New Music: Wild Beasts "Albatross" [Review]

Following on from the fantastic Two Dancers, Wild Beasts have released the first track from the forthcoming Smother. The track, 'Albatross' is available free via http://www.facebook.com/wildbeasts.

How does it sound? Well check it out for yourself but it's safe to say that it's more of the same from the Mercury nominated act. Hayden Thorpe's fantastic vocal is at its very best here, encompassing the middle ground between his usual swing from falsetto to brooding baritone.

The backing track is a very simple, meandering piano tone - the band aren't exactly pushing the boundaries with this track. What they do, however, they do well.
