The Decemberists are back with Down By The Water.
The Portland five piece are set to release their latest album, The King is Dead, on January 11th. This is the first track to drop from it.
A great track, it is much more country that I expected from the Decemberists. The vocal is as strong as ever, but the harmonica infused chorus and the additional female backing vocals in parts really give it a great new vibe, as loathed as I am to use that word!!
Has a real REM feel to it. Great stuff - hopefully the album will live up to this standard too.
