Cold War Kids: "Royal Blue"

Rejoice - Cold War Kids are back!

One of the most underrated bands on the circuit at the moment I think, Cold War Kids are set to return with their third album, Mine Is Yours, next January.

To date, the band have released two albums (the absolutely fantastic Robbers & Cowards and the ultimately forgettable Loyalty to Loyalty) as well as a handful of EPs, most recently the fantastic Behave Yourself, that included Audience.

They have released the first track from the forthcoming record. Entitled Royal Blue, the track comes from the Jacqui King (Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse, Tom Waits) produced album and retains that garage-bluesy feel the band have always had, though with a sun-soaked fun undercurrent. A more mature sound than we've had before, but seems like a return to the quality of the debut. Fingers crossed for a surprise hit album.
