VERY Exciting Album News Re: The Avalanches

So ten years have passed since the release of the utterly hypnotic Since I Left You, the now-legendary debut from experimental Australians The Avalanches. And in the ensuing ten years, obsessed fans have taken any murmur from the Avalanche-camp and twisted it any which way in order to begin hysteria that could lead to a new album, but alas this has ultimately failed.

Until now - allegedly. In typically cryptic fashion, nothing has actually been confirmed by the band, though a website administrator has added fuel to the fire. He/She was quoted as saying "i hear ariel pink is recording some guest vocals for it and once those are done, the album will be finished (!)."

So that's a combination of Australian legends The Avalanches and one of the hottest workers in chillwave today, Ariel Pink.

If you've managed to miss Before Today I suggest you check it out. The album put out by Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti earlier this year is a glorious medley of pop music and creativity and, along with the Drums, could form the perfect summer playlist. Weather dependent, of course...
