New Music: Sleigh Bells

And HERE's the part where I rave about a new band...

Sleigh Bells are Derek Miller and Alexis Krauss. He was a waiter and she a teacher when they met in the restaurant in which Miller was employed and they got chatting about music. Soon after, this magnificence was born. Their musical backgrounds are sharply contrasting also - he played hardcore while she was in a pop group. This contrast comes through in the songs, however, and really gives it a unique feel.

The production is all done Mr. Miller - and he should be really proud. They acknowledge that they have much to learn so this one can only get better and better surely.

The sound is a blend of hip-hop beats and some real raw rock&roll... Think the Kills. If they had worked with DMX or the Neptunes.

Turn this one up to eleven and enjoy. It's called Crown on the Ground.
