New Music: Toro Y Moi

Toro Y Moi is the recording name of Chazwick Bundick. He is not as new as the bands I usually talk about in these posts (Harlem, Tanlines, etc.) though he has gotten very little attention on this side of the Atlantic in comparison to American bloggers.

His sound is referred to as chillwave and is characterised by synths, looping, samples and simple melodic sounds. Very similar to that of the hotly tipped jj, and many have even compared him to the xx. Neon Indian and Memory Tapes also fit into this bracket. It's a very simple electronic style of pop music.

Toro Y Moi released his debut album, Causers of This, in January to pretty positive reviews.
